Exploring Opportunities of Linked Open Innovation Data

Anyone can access innovation data online, and you can find enormous amounts of information in open patent databases. However, how can you extract the relevant information to achieve new insights that might lead to game-changing new products or services?

At this combined seminar and workshop, Dolores, Alan and Miha guide you through the process of how you can access patent and innovation data – faster and smarter – to enhance your strategic insights and decision-making. Open access to this linked data could revolutionise how the research landscape will be analysed in the future.

Be among the first to get a look into the brand new way of connecting Linked Open European Patent Data with other linked open innovation-related data or scientific publications.

Central topics:

  • Sharing, reusing and exploiting existing innovation data
  • Possibilities and challenges of using linked open intellectual property rights (IPR) data
  • Case study: how to use this linked data
  • Data mining and patent analytics
  • Some really neat tools
  • +++

Do not miss out when this multidisciplinary team is in Oslo to share insights into how to capitalise on European patent information (yes, Norwegian, too), which is now readily available to researchers, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), and others – for free!

Tip! If you want to browse on your own, we recommend that you bring your own laptop to get the most out of this workshop.

You do not need any prior knowledge of linked open data, but some basic knowledge on patent databases would be useful. You might want to take a closer look at Espacenet to familiarise yourself with patent information before the seminar.

PS: There is a limited number of seats available, so be quick to sign up.
